Yesterday, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released its National Broadband Plan, which sets the federal government on a course to expand its regulatory reach over the Internet.

CFIF’s Timothy Lee appeared on the Lars Larson Show to discuss the potential dangers of the FCC’s plan, as well as the FCC’s destructive “Net Neutrality” initiative. Mr. Lee pointed out that Net Neutrality constitutes an attempt by government regulators to commandeer the Internet in the same way that the “Fairness Doctrine” seeks to commandeer the radio waves. He also emphasized that Net Neutrality would discourage investment in network expansion, which will be critical to prevent gridlock as Internet use continues to expand.

The last thing America needs right now is for government bureaucrats to expand their suffocating authority over the Internet, and Mr. Lee encouraged listeners to contact their Senators and Representatives immediately to express their opposition in no uncertain terms to this toxic bureaucratic expansion.
